How Much Should You Tip the Pizza Guy?

If you haven't been tipping your pizza delivery person, shame on you! Instead of going out to eat, this person is delivering the food directly to your doorstep, saving you the time, preparation and gas.
Most drivers only make minimum wage plus have to provide their own transportation, which equates to less than minimum wage with the high cost of gas and operating expenses these days. They also are higher at risk for robbery and assault since they carry food and money.
The recommended amount is 15% of the total (and you probably saved at least that with coupons). Bump up the percentage to 20% if the service was outstanding, or if the driver had to drive a long distance, and especially if the weather is bad (ie rain, snow, extreme cold or heat).
Use our handy calculator below based on 15% to calculate how much you should tip. You may want to bump up the amount to an even dollar amount to avoid the driver having to make change. *Must use IE Browser for Calculator to work.
Pizza delivery drivers are motivated by money as most of us are. Those who repeatedly tip usually receive better service and their pizzas first!
