Don’t you hate throwing away expired coupons that you didn’t use? I do. Did you know that a lot of overseas military commissaries will accept expired coupons? This is especially helpful for those military families that relocate overseas and have a hard time stretching their budget.
I got an email from John Zaher, a Marine in Okinawa, Japan, and he will gladly accept your donations. Please send current & expired coupons (up to 6 months), preferable in a plastic zip bag to:
Defense Commissary Agency
Western/Pacific Region, Japan Zone
Unit 5156
APO AP 96368-5000
I prefer to mail a big bulk of coupons via a Priority Mail Flat Rate Envelope which are free at the post office or to order them online. The shipping cost to mail these envelopes is only $3.85 regardless of weight or destination.
Here are few more links that contain military addresses that accept expired coupons. If you know of more places or can use them yourself (I believe some stores in CA and IL accept them?), please feel free to leave your address in the comment section of this post.
