I hope you all had a Merry Christmas! I’m sick of all the “Happy Holidays Hype” as I truly believe that Jesus is the Reason for the Season. We will always have a Christmas Tree in our home, never ever a Holiday Tree.
My kids received way too many gifts as usual. I had to laugh when I read our hometown newspaper this week. The second graders had written letters to Santa and sent them into the paper to be published. My daughter, Tatym’s letter began, “Dear Santa, I have tried to be good this year. It has been difficult!” Her list included a Doodle Bear, Freaky Food Lab and Magic Set. Seems the younger they are, the easier (and cheaper), they are to buy for.
I was never able to find an XBox 360 for my son and told him so. But he held out hope that I was fibbing him and that the mini-fridge wrapped up under the tree was really the console he yearned for. Granted he immediately stocked up the mini-fridge in his room with Dr. Pepper, but he was a little disappointed. And now his birthday is next week… He’s already taller than me and now will get his learner’s permit to drive!
My daughter with OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) is already having a fit that we don’t have our Christmas tree taken down yet and put all away. She likes things neat and orderly… or her way or no way is how we see it.
I got my Thomas Pacconi 7.5 ft Prelit Christmas Tree Featuring 1200 Lights & Remote Control from FedEx today! I had ordered it when it was $49.99 (regularly $300!), and then the price dropped to $39.99, so I emailed Amazon, and they credited me back $10! I can’t wait to use it next year.
My Christmas present to myself was buying a lot to build a new house. It has always been a goal of mine to build, and my dream may become a reality sooner than later. So maybe next year, I’ll get to put my new tree in a NEW house!
Here’s wishing you all a Happy and HEALTHY New Year (with lots of bargains along the way)!
