People seems to think I know a lot about computers since I work from home using a computer. They are so wrong. I especially proved that today when my new Systemax Dual 15-Inch LCD Monitors arrived. I was so excited that I immediately cleaned off my desk and undid my old monster of a monitor. I unpacked my new “toy”, positioned it just perfect, and went to plug in all the attachments. Ut oh. I only have one VGA port on my computer. I need two!
No problem, I think. It says I can buy a DVI-VGI adaptor. Seems easy enough. Then I continue to read that I’ll also need an additional graphics card to support a dual monitor. Reading into that, it involves actually opening the hard drive to install one, after buying one, of course. Ugh!
So, after an hour wasted, I decided to pack up the new monitor and save it for either someone to install a graphics card for me, or else buy a new computer with those capibilities already installed. I’ve been contemplated the latter anyway. My trusty old monitor gets me by.
