We consider January to be our birthday month here, as three of my four kids have January birthdays. My youngest was born in July, so at school for summer birthdays, they celebrate “half-birthdays”, thus hers is in January as well! And being the youngest (and most spoiled), she tends to get presents as well.
So that means buying or making birthday treats for school for four kids in one month! And the kids don’t just bring a bag of fun-size candy bars anymore (like I used to). Most bring full size candy bars plus a can of pop for everyone! That gets quite spendy. Luckily, my oldest is now in highschool and doesn’t require treats. He has moved on to bigger and better (and more expensive things).
And my Mother’s Ring boasts four red stones as well (January is garnet, and July is Ruby). Funny, how none of them were born in the month they were due. My son was due in December (overdue, now 15), the twins (12, next week) were due in April (3 months premature), and my baby (now 7 1/2, don’t forget the “half”) was due in August (only 3 weeks early). Must be meant to be.
