I love to travel, but it makes me SOOOO tired, and I’m always happy to be home again. I ended up coaxing my mother to go with Tatym and me to Chicago, as I hate driving, especially at night and in strange places. Tatym’s appointment was 50 miles outside of Chicago, so a cab would have been really expensive. We rented a car from Enterprise, and I must say ALL of their employees were VERY nice and helpful. I was impressed.
Tatym’s appointment went well, and I hope she gets some relief now. It didn’t take as long as expected, so we were able to move up our flights to an earlier time. I was hoping to get to meet my friend Pam that I had met via Twins Magazine when both of our twins were little and had similar preemie complications, but the time and distance didn’t work out.
At the last minute, we were able to meet the pastor from the church where I grew up, as she now lives only a couple of miles from the airport. We had a nice lunch before flying out. And then in the airport, I ran into my friend, Julie, who was on the same flight! She is really inspirational and has a new website: DiggingOutTogether.com
It was ironic how we ran into so many spiritual, motivating people on our short trip. At the hotel for breakfast, we also met Pete Adams, a Christian author, who gave my mom an autographed copy of his book, “Fulfillment” which I plan to read when she is finished. Everyone planned to pray for Tatym’s health, and I believe in the power of prayer.
