I blame my mother for me being a picky eater. She never even made me eat the school hot lunches, but packed me lunches with love. I rotated between SpaghettiOs, Mac & Cheese, and Jelly Sandwiches (had to be strawberry jelly). There is an age gap between my brother and I, so I was basically an only child back then.
My poor kids are not so lucky. If they don’t like what the school is serving, they have to make their lunch themselves. But you can’t make a lunch for under $1.50, so I prefer they eat at school.
I am gradually getting better at trying new foods in my older, wiser years. I just started eating salads, but still refuse to eat cheese or pork products. But don’t even try to get me to eat most Mexican or Chinese foods (I’ll save my Chow Mein story for another day).
But I stumbled across Arcoiris Gamesa Marshmallow Cookies in the Mexican isle while at Super-Walmart (I needed taco stuff for the kids). And I am hooked on these cookies that I grab a box every time I shop there! The kids don’t care for them, so I guess I get the whole box to myself!
