I remember when I was young making May Day baskets out of styrofoam cups and pipe cleaners and filling them with left over Easter candy. Then we’d leave them on the doorsteps of friends, ring the doorbell, and run like the wind so they didn’t know who left it. Those were the days.
I googled the origin of May Day, and it dates back to before Christ was born. Seems it is still being celebrated in Great Britian, but the hype has slowly faded away here in the United States.
I wish I had some extra free time (and the supplies) as it would be a fun project for my girls to make and deliver baskets. Maybe next year…
