I remember liking field trips as a kid, probably because we got out of doing schoolwork that day. It’s field trip time for my girls, and I think the preparation is more tolling on the parents… Run to the grocery store for stuff to make lunches, Pack appropriate clothing, Send money, Sign Release Forms, Listen them to ramble about who is going to sit with who on the buses, Get them to school to early…

For Tatym’s field trip, they are going to Ashfall Fossil Beds State Historical Park today. I have never personally been there so volunteered to be a Parent Helper so I could see it, but I didn’t get picked. Seems only 2 parents get to go, and they draw from a hat. Public School is so different from the private Lutheran School that my son went to. They begged for Parent Volunteers to be drivers, so I went on a lot of field trips then!

Tommorrow, the twins are visiting Stuhr Museum of the Prairie Pioneer. I believe I went there as a student as well. I didn’t put my name in the hat for that one, as I didn’t want to be gone for 12 hours and have to arrange plans for the other kids before and after school.
