I think I’ll sleep in tomorrow… if the kids let me…

July 23rd, 2006 by kim

As if my weekend wasn’t going to be busy enough with the Pierce County Fair, a surprise 50th birthday party for my uncle, and Tatym’s 8th birthday party all planned, I went and put my current house up for sale Friday.

I figured I had until Tuesday to get the house all cleaned for the realtor’s open house, but thanks to the wonderful world of the internet, the house is listed online immediately, and someone wanted to see it Saturday already! Time to call my mother and do some power cleaning. Cleaning is obviously not one of my fortes. But we got the job done. I am so not looking forward to packing up everything to move. 60 days to completion of the new house according to the contractor.

Tatym - my baby is not a baby anymore - wanted her birthday party at the lake, complete with a grilled lunch, tubing and swimming. It was a nice time. And when my brother wasn’t throwing me off the jet ski, I got a nice sunburn on the beach. Him and I both lost our sunglasses in the fall-offs, but he was more upset about it than me, as his were $60 glasses and mine came from the Dollar Tree.

And I think my kids are officially “faired” out until next year. It gets to be an expensive weekend with the cost of admission, cost of amusement park rides and cost of eating at the church stands. The finale show tonight was Tommy Cash doing a Johnny Cash Tribute Show. I hate to say it, but I prefered the opening act of Tami Hall and the Regulators over Tommy. I think it’s time for Tommy to retire.
