The Weather Channel and Forecast Earth are sponsoring an environmental essay contest for high school students to win a free trip to Washington D.C. to attend the Forecast Earth Summit in December 5-7, 2008. Applications and essays must be submitted to https://www.forecastearthsummit.org/.
The contest is open to legal residents of the 48 continental United States and the District of Columbia, 14 - 17 years of age, enrolled in good standing full-time in a public or state accredited private, parochial or home school in grades 9-11.
Essay Topic: Describe what you are doing to keep the planet green and clean. Max. 200 words.
Prizes: 20 students will be chosen for free trips to D.C., all expenses paid:
- round-trip airfare
- hotel accommodations for 2 nights
- ground transportation between the airport in Washington D.C. and the Hotel
- Welcome Dinner with all Winners on December 5, 2008
- breakfast, lunch and dinner with all Winners on December 6, 2008
- breakfast and lunch with all Winners on December 7, 2008
- a gift bag from the Weather Channel
Each prize is worth $2,200.00.
